Cordy Sky is a sequel to the hit Cordy. Similar to games like Doodle Jump, SilverTree Media has made a hit vertical-jumper that takes you to limitless possibilities. With the usual go-higher plot, SilverTree had some twists added to the game.

If you're familiar with Doodle Jump, you know that tilting your device would be the only way to control the game. But here, you are given three choices. You may opt to have buttons at the bottom of the screen by choosing Classic mode. Or follow the traditional Tilting control. Or just try the Slider if you find it comfortable to slide your fingers side to side. I find it easier to use the Classic controls on my Asus Transformer. It fits the fast paced movement I do when playing. Tilting is as good as those of Doodle Jump's and I am just not used to the Slider mode. But still, it's a personal choice and you can change it at any point in the game by pressing Pause.

The goal of the game is to reach your Spaceship located 5000m high up in the sky. And for every 1000m, you get a part of the spaceship needed for its take-off. Each 1000-meter segment is a level in its own. As you go from segment to segment, the background graphics change. You start from the ground until you reach the stars. Also, as you go higher, you'll be able to face some challenges such as falling meteors. You really need the skill to avoid these.

As you move along, you get to collect some gears. Gears are what you need to purchase some upgrades, power ups and life-saving items like the Emergency Bubble. Apart from upgrades and power ups, you can also buy costumes and colors to fully customize Cordy. Yes, you heard it right! You can change Cordy's color which ranges from sunshine to platinum Cordy. And if you are a Mexican, you may want him to put on a sombrero. If you love some witchcraft and wizardry, buy him a magician's hat. It's all up to you!

With all the vertical-jumper games I have played, of course falling is equal to failing. But here, falling without Volt or an emergency bubble is really the end of the game. If you have Volt tokens on your side, it's just a tap away to help save your life and boost your way high up. You better be quick or else, you'll fail. But if you don't have any Volt token have no fear. Emergency bubble automatically gets activated. You can purchase this on the store. So ad long as you have any of these two, falling wouldn't be fatal.

When it come to the story, I would say it is quite short. When you reach the 5000 meter mark, it's all done there. But you can still go higher than 5000 but no more cutscenes. Even though the story was quite short, I still salute SilverTree for the sharp graphics and awesome effects overall. It balanced the short storyline of the game. Besides the story, there is also a competitive aspect of the game you should also take a look at.

Throughout the game, you can reach some achievements in the game by doing some things. This ranges from the easily achievable (ones you would normally achieve just by playing it as you know it) to the hard-as-hell achievements (some that would require mastery of the game to achieve). These are extra bragging rights in addition to the longest distance you have achieved. Good when playing with your friends and family.

THE VERDICT: This vertical-jumper game is a good addition to your time-killers and a very good app to spend with your friends and family. The short storyline has been compensated well with sharp graphics and awesome graphics. The game control is very good due to its three control modes. You can choose how you want to play depending on your convenience. You would definitely play it again and again as long as the battery is not drained to empty.
